Hold on and hold tight!
There are so many things changing everyday. World news, local news, hot topics that everyone is speaking about. It is hard to be still and just breathe and realize that God knows all that is going on and he STILL calls us to be the peacemaker. To be the calm in the storm. To pray with each other. To be joyful. To be thankful for what we have.
Think of it this way:
Complain stay the same Rejoice and be glad.
Now, is this easy…
NO! it is not.
We need to pray for each other, pray with each other, encourage each other. Be that smile and comfort to someone you see. Look people in the eye and let them know God loves them right where they are at. Whatever their struggle today, God knows and he is working on their behalf if they are calling out to him.
You nor I can solve the problems that we each face. Big or small problems can hinder us from moving forward. The fantastic thing is we do know someone who can help. We can ask God into the situation. God cares if you can not find your keys and you need to leave for work. God cares if you are struggling with a child that will not listen and you are at the end of patience. God cares if your in bed at night crying because a relative or friend passed away and you miss them. God knows that you rejoice that they are in heaven but you also miss them and miss talking to them.
Gods promises are real and everyday we can be renewed by his word. we can be excited about what God has in store for our lives. Find things that encourage you today. Keep them close. Reading your Bible first thing in the morning, reading a devotional, a special app that you look at that has a scripture of the day, pray before you leave the house, and one that you might not have thought of….Listen to a Christian radio station. This has made a huge impact on my life. I have a different attitude if I have spent time in my car listening to Christian music. When I get to work I feel excited and motivated.
Lastly, surround yourself with people that you trust and know the Lord. When things are stressing you out and you know that you are sinking, these are the friends that you can call and say will you pray with me right now. They do not think you are perfect and they are truly caring people that want what is best for you. I have several people in my life that help me. Pray to God today to surround you and protect you and bring believing people in your life that will help you on your journey of life.
For questions or concerns feel free to call me at 740-407-5533.
Blessed and joyful,

Thankfulness and Unity
First of all Good Day!
Look outside
it is a brand new day
with lots of fun adventures waiting for you to enjoy!
Yes you have a job, and kids, and bills and needs and wants and people depending on and on and on and on and on and on….I know that but guess what we have an awesome God that when you start your day thanking him and praising him and asking HIM to use you today ! It starts with you and me. It starts with a Good morning to someone! It starts with a smile and thank you God. It starts with a hug and words of encouragement to a friend or a stranger. We are all loved by God and he made us all. Yep, every single one of us. Lets focus on what we have in common. Love, faith, hope, the ability to smile, laugh and have some fun in life.
We can come out of all this stronger. Pray FOR each other. Pray WITH each other. We can choose to be in tune with unity as a person, as a family, as a church, as a county, as a state and as a nation. Unity does not mean you have to agree on everything. Unity means you want to come in the situation and make peace. To have compassion, to be a problem solver, to have a heart for compromise. To realize that other person might just need a smile, a hug, a person to listen.
Relax..breathe and realize that God is working in this situation at all times and he wants good things for you. He knows your heart and he knows your love for him. God is asking for us to listen and relax and have faith that it will work out. Give yourself some space, some room to just relax and enjoy the sunshine today. Take a moment and look at where you have been and what you have accomplished. Take a moment to just appreciate where you are right now. This makes me think of a song by Tim McGraw and in the song he says “Let yourself feel the pride but always stay humble and kind!” Our reading for this coming Sunday is Jonah 2: 8-9 “Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, salvation comes from the Lord”
Thank you lord for who you are now, yesterday and tomorrow.
I am thankful. I am humbly grateful for your love! which leads me to my favorite verse…
1Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourself ,therefore, under the mighty hand of God. That he may exalt you in due time casting all your cares on him for he cares for you. God loves us so much. He wants us to strive for peace, unity, love, mercy and to ask him into the situation.
Thank you Lord!

Happy Father’s Day this Sunday
June 16th, 2020
The kids will be making something special this week in Children’s Church for Father’s Day!
We will also be finishing up our unit on Non-Avengers. In this unit we have talked about people in the bible that choose to forgive and be compassionate instead of vengeful and angry. These men and woman of the bible choose to ask God into their situation and to ask him to make a way. They forgave and were kind and compassionate though they were being threatened with certain death. They knew in their own strength they could not have handled it but through prayer and faith things changed. Things turned around. Minds were opened to the idea of forgiveness and love.
This week we are talking about Stephen in our lesson. Stephen had a heart for the lord and he was on fire to preach the word and did great things and miracles. Stephen did no wrong yet people accused him of telling lies about Moses and God. People testified against him and he was killed. The amazing thing is that when Stephen was about to die he cried out to God and asked him to not hold it against the people who were about to kill him. Think about that for a moment. In his last breathe he asked God to forgive them. He asked God to not even look at what they were doing. Stephen knew he was about to enter heaven. He was ready and I am sure excited. the sting of death was for a moment but what awaited him after that was amazing! He had such a heart of love for everyone that he did not want revenge for his death.
Acts 7:60 and he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
WOW! I don’t know about you but that is some amazing love for everyone and faith in Christ. Stephen not only believed but felt love for everyone in his heart and no avenging thoughts whatsoever. Something for each of us to strive for. He was a great Non-Avenger!
See ya Sunday 🙂
Ms. Debbie
WELCOME PASTOR MIKE!
Thank you for a wonderful heartfelt service this past week!
This coming Sunday, we are reading an Epistle Lesson Ephesians 4:1-10.
Ephesians 4:2-3 says
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.
Sometimes we are going to have to stop , pray and compromise in life. As people we learn that we all are different and there may things we do not agree on. We all have moments where we think we are right and we can be stubborn. Ask my husband I can be stubborn. I am sure we all have at some time. We can think our decision is the only decision. We can think that our way is the only way. NEVER underestimate the power of prayer in a situation. NEVER underestimate the power of talking together and listening to each other to find a solution. Remember to take time to listen to the points the other person is trying to make. You might not agree but pray and work together to form unity and harmony not conflict and discontent. God can really make a way. When you work together at the end of it you can have peace. You know your voice was heard. It might not turn out exactly the way you wanted it but the end goal of compromise was established and that is for the greater good. The next step after that happens is to share your testimony on how God made a way where you saw no way. When you reach out in a personal testimony on how God has done a work in your life that really does make a difference to a non believer. Honestly, it makes a difference and touches the life of a believer too.
Remember to take time to listen to the points the other person is trying to make. You might not agree but pray and work together to form unity and harmony not conflict and discontent.
Being a believer in Christ Jesus is a lifetime journey. Forever you will be finding out new things about how Christ is moving in your life. Lastly, be sure to give God thanks!
Finding ways to get along and work together will be something we do for the rest of our lives here on Earth. This is the Non-Avengers way of life in Christ Jesus!
Come join us for Children’s Church during 10 am Service ALL ARE WELCOME!
Any questions or concerns please call me at 740-407-5533.
Unity in Christ,
Ms. Debbie

Non- Avengers
We could not be doing a more appropriate lesson during these times. So much going on and so many things that are changing around us. It is ok. We will get through this. I promise! People do not always agree. We differ on how to handle a situation sometimes and that is fine. The problem happens when people decide to use violence and destroy property to make their point. Our country was created so we could have freedom and vote for what the people wanted by a majority system. Violence does not solve a situation. It might end the situation for a time but, it does not solve it. Communication is key. We must learn to communicate our needs to each other better without violence. You are a part of that change our world needs!
We all make mistakes and we all can get upset, angry, frustrated, happy, sad, lonely….all kinds of emotions and that is alright. It is what we do at these times that is important. What you say, where you go, what you are thinking, who you are hanging around with. How you handle a situation is up to you and no one else. I sometimes handle a situation really well. I pray first , take some deep breathes, think in my head what I am going to say and then calmly deal with the situation. Sometimes I blow it. I get upset. I get snappy with my answer. We all can get very moody when we are hungry. Hangry they call it. We are not perfect. That is why we need God and a personal relationship with him. You can stop, take a breath and call upon God to help you. The more you do it the more it will become a habit.
Non-Avengers is all about that. We are not called as children of God to avenge a wrong doing. We live by grace, mercy, kindness and forgiveness and love. When you “blow it” stop, pray and ask God’s forgiveness. Then, go to the person and ask their forgiveness. It is ok if they do not forgive you. It may take them time, but you did your part by asking for forgiveness. We are to be a light, not be perfect. You would be amazed how you show God when you admit you messed up and ask forgiveness. People see that you are humble and that you really are trying to make things right.
We are living in a world where there is much evil, suffering, lies, violence, and hate. We are called to be the light. We are called to be the peacemakers, the kind, the helpful, the humble, the compassionate, the giver, the forgiver, the listener. God can show us how to make a way in a situation we see no way. He can show you how to deal with a situation that seems hopeless. Choose to not follow along when you see people talking about others and gossiping. Choose not to tease the boy that others are calling ugly or stupid. Choose not to be a bully. But also choose to talk to them and say I do not like when you do that. It is not ok. Step in and help that person being bullied or being called names. If you are the person that this is happening to tell someone. Talk to your parents. Talk to your teachers. Talk to me. If you have been a bully to people decide today to ask Jesus into your life and ask him to help you stop. You can also talk to me about that or your parents. This is about change. We can decide not to avenge the wrongs that are done. We can decide to show a better way!
The most important thing is you are a person that can change with Jesus Christ! Every single person can decide to change and I know Jesus will help you. We are Overcomer’s in Christ Jesus!
Remember our bible verse: Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate one to another , forgiving each other, just as Christ Jesus forgave you.
Do not go along with what you know is wrong. Decide to do what is right, true and just.
Jeremiah 33:3
Thank you Father that when I call upon you, you answer me and you show me great and mighty things which I have not known.
Be strong in Christ!

Remember Jesus Paid the Price:
We are now starting to come out of homes and get back to living. In this moment, let us remember where we have been in the past before Covid 19, where we have been in the past few months and where we are now. I am excited to know that through it all God was with us. We do not always have a clue about what God is doing and why, but I know he has plans for us . These plans are NEVER to harm us but, to prosper us. His plans are always good and if we listen and let him lead in our lives it is amazing what He will do. Jesus already did it for us. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Let that sink in. We are His children. We have been away from each other and we have missed each other and now like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon we will be able to meet again soon. Our church will be opening soon and I am so excited to see everyone again.
I am excited for the opening of our church and the vote for our new Pastor. WELCOME PASTOR MIKE!!
With that comes the leaving of Pastor Karl. He will always have a special spot in my heart. I knew that God had plans for me in children’s ministry. I did not know where and I did not know when. I have much experience with teaching children but I never led or built a program for a children’s ministry myself. Pastor Karl took me under his wing and helped me when he knew I was not sure how to start. I had many ideas and activities to do but I needed help to organize it and get started. That is where Pastor Karl and Marilouise were incredible. I was shaking the first time I went up in front of the church to talk and do the Children’s lesson. He gave me encouragement and a plan to help me feel more comfortable. I will never forget the day we were having Worship and I came up to do the Children’s message and only one child came up. I was honestly freaking out. It was going to be so uncomfortable for that child and me, as the leader of it, you depend on the kids to give input and make everyone laugh. So I have a deer in the headlight look and good ole Pastor Karl comes up and sits with the child and cracks a joke about her being up there by herself. All the anxiety just left my body and I thanked God for Pastor Karl right then. Pastor Karl has a true heart to serve the Lord and to bring people to Christ. It shows in his words, his actions and his smile. I am truly blessed to have been able to get to know Pastor Karl. Gods speed Pastor Karl in your future endeavors! Pastor Karl and Marilouise are a powerhouse for the lord and I am so thankful for them both. I am sure you all have stories to and please be sure to share them on our facebook page Peace Children’s Ministry. Look for our logo Every Child Blesses to be sure you are on the right one.
Smiles and hugs!

Be Present:
We are living in a space of time that can sometimes seem endless. We have conversations about things I would have never imaged several months ago. Mask or no mask? Gloves or no gloves? Do you go out or stay in? I know I am personally realizing that screen time is on over drive right now. I am feeling like I open up facebook and before you know it, 2 hours have just disappeared! Well, it’s time for us all to stop and refocus. We need to wake up and get out of our funk and be present. Look around we live in a beautiful place and we have some amazing friends and family. There are so many things we take for granted and need to start doing again. Taking a nice relaxing walk, maybe kayaking or boating. Have you thought about going to the beach again? I know something as simple as stepping outside and looking at the geckos, that like to hang out on our house, was a treat this morning. Has anyone else just lost track of time lately? It is easy to do. Lets make some plans and goals for our future. Sit down with your family or friends and make some goals for 1 month , 2 months and maybe 1 year from now. Spend some quality time with those who are special to you. Ask God into your planning and your day. Pray together as a family. Start the day reading a devotion together.
There will always be outside interference to make these things not happen and it takes a personal decision to commit to doing a devotional each day. Even just starting with prayer in the morning before anyone leaves the house takes time to get into the habit of doing. Have everyone in your family help remind each other . Once everyone is on board with doing it, you will be amazed how everyone will help remember and participate. Family will see the difference it makes in their lives to start the day reading the word of God and/or praying. If you forget or lose a day it is ok! The important thing is stay at it! The world wants us all to think God is a big lie, a joke, for weak people. This is the farthest thing from the truth. As you join forces with Christ and ask him in your life, you will see a difference and HE WILL teach you things and show you things. If you have never asked Jesus into your situation, into your heart, into your everyday life…ask him now. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God and we all need God’s mercy and grace. Turn off the world today and turn on God and his word.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Hope and Kindness
I personally will always be full of hope. Why? Because my confident hope is in the lord. That does not mean my life is perfect and I can do no wrong and everyone is happy all around me. It means that no matter what is going on around me, it will not change who I am in Christ Jesus. When you start to think of yourself in the people of the bible and think about if you were in that situation you will realize they had a choice. God called them to step out of their comfort and out of what they had done all their lives and to trust in him. He had great and wonderful plans for their life. They were NORMAL people living everyday lives until they trusted in Jesus. Jesus helped them to realize they were magnificent people that God loves and wanted great things for them. If I help one child or share a prayer or show hope in Christ to one person I have done something AMAZING.
Let’s keep moving forward in our journey to read the bible and learn about people in the Bible. God is hope for every single one of us. God is contagious! God can do things that you and I can not even image. I have seen it! I have witnessed it. When I have let go and truly gave it to God I have seen miracles that touched many! I have prayed for God to make a way where I truly saw no way. He did it. I will tell you one thing he has NEVER resolved the issue the way I thought it would be resolved and when he does it, it touches many. Keep hope in Christ alive in your heart, home, in what you say and what you do and where you go. Have confidence that HE IS working on your behalf. I am certain there is nothing as precious as Christ Jesus.
What can you do to show a little kindness this week? Go to peace children’s ministry facebook page and put a comment in what you did this week to show kindness. I would love to hear about it! As always you can also call me at 740-407-5533 and be sure to leave a message for me if I do not answer. Did you know that when you show kindness to someone you are showing hope? Hope in tomorrow, hope in human kind, hope in a better future for us all.
Be sure to watch Pastor’s Karl’s message this week on here. peacenaples.org.

What’s holding you Back? (It’s Not God)
What is holding you back? We all make mistakes and we need God. God is here and with us right now! We have been studying about the Non-Avengers in our videos in the last few months. We have learned about the Prodigal son, Esau, Joseph and David. Next we will be learning about Abigail.. The bible verse that is the theme of this unit is:
Ephesians 4:32 Be Kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.
Think about your last 15 conversations. Is there a person or a situation that you talked about that was from the past that upset you? Is it a person that you forgave but you still talk about what happened? It still bugs you? You still bring it up when talking to people?
Maybe you got mad, yelled at someone, told someone you hated them, threw something and broke it or hit something else and broke it. Was this in your conversation recently with someone?
We all make mistakes. Adults and kids. We all have bad habits and things that bug us and have hurt us. Nobody has a perfect family and a perfect job and perfect friends and a perfect house. But, we can decide to forgive and TRULY forget it. You may be saying “no I can not!” Well, you do not have to…. but you can.
If it is something you did and you asked forgiveness. God forgave you. now….forgive yourself.
If someone did something to you. Pray for them and let it go. Move forward. Have an image of you happier and healed from this. Speak out of your mouth Lord I AM healed and I AM moving forward. I thank you for that Jesus. I DO forgive them! In Jesus name Amen. He already did it on the cross for you and me. If it starts to come up in a conversation or you start talking about it STOP IT! What good is coming from that? This will start a habit and when things happen (big or small) you will have the tools to stop it in it’s tracks!
The key is not to dwell on it. I know that may seem impossible. What if they do it again? What if I do it again?
THAT MAY HAPPEN! You have to decide to lay the problem at Jesus’ feet. You may do it again. You may do it 10 more times but you can help yourself by stopping and saying God I am sorry. God help me. Teach me. Calm me. God let me show kindness to this person and to myself. If you are working on a behavior of your own talk to your parents about. Pray with your parents about it. Let them help you. We can be a good influence on others and show love. No matter if your 100 years old and you have not talked to your brother in 50 years or your 10 years old and you threw a controller and broke the TV. God can heal the situation. Do not follow the crowd. Decide to pray and ask God for wisdom and be free to let go of the past and be excited and have hope about the future!
HUGS!

I want to start with a bible verse today that I am going to be using as a kind of center in my life.
Jeremiah 33:3
Thank you Father that when I call upon you, you answer me and you show me great and mighty things which I have not known.
Let me tell you how I came about looking at this bible verse in particular. I wake up in the middle of the night and for some reason many times it is at 3:33 in the morning. Also often at others times, in the afternoon I will look at a clock and it will be 3:33. I often wondered why it so often was that time. I used to think (not in a bad way but peaceful way) maybe I am going to leave this Earth at 3:33 and go to heaven. This time has been a constant in my life for years. One day a few years ago I was talking to my husband and I asked him “Do you think it could be a bible verse? ” he directed me to Jeremiah because it had many chapters and we thought it would be the 3rd Chapter verse 33. Well, though that was a very good verse it was not significant to me in any way.
I am a type of person who likes to have things explained quickly, understood and then move forward. That was not the case with this. It has been maybe 3 years since I thought about the 3:33 again and what it could mean. Last night I woke up, not at 3:33 and I went to the couch and started writing in my thankful book. I started to talk to God about changes in my life and wanting something to be passionate about. I knew that at this point in my life the one thing that I am passionate about is learning more about God. I want to be able to help adults and kids learn about God in a way that relates to their everyday life. To look at God as a great and wonderful constant in their life. That they can come to and sort out any problem, conflict, illness, weakness, addiction. Well lets face it God can help you make it through LIFE! After writing for awhile I noticed I really want to write a children’s book.
At some point I was looking at a book that my neighbor had wrote about Jesus and it is all about healing. My neighbors name is John Franco and he has been a Pastor for many years. The book is called “By His Stripes I am Healed” amazing book and it has opened my eyes about the word and what it says about healing. But, that was not the new fascinating thing…I read a section of the book and then I flipped through it…In the back there were bible verses and guess what? One was Jeremiah 3:33. Last night was time for me to just talk to God. He always refreshes me when I just spend time with him talking and writing to him about my feelings and desires. I always pray open the doors that need opened lord and shut the doors that need shut. I came to him about my future. I asked him in and he showed me something in his word that I had read before but became so much more to me in that moment. It is something I have faith in. I have seen God show me things that I would not have figured out on my own. God has challenged me to handle situations in ways that I had no idea how that was going to work out. Don’t ever forget GOD knows the WHOLE situation and we only know bits and pieces. When we listen to God we are giving God the whole situation and he can work it out in such a way that many people are blessed and many people will see that it is GOD in the situation. No one person can do all that God can do. Why would we need God if we could really do it all ourselves?
Is there a Bible verse that has spoken to you recently? Maybe you can make a picture, write a story, write a song, write a poem or journal about it.
God is in it for life!

What are some take aways from being away from each other?
I challenge you to think about some things that you may have learned during this time away. It could be funny things you learned about someone in your family. It could be a food that you now like. You might have learned to cook something. Talk to your parents about some things you have learned about yourself, your parents, and/ or a brother or sister that you did not know before. Maybe you haVE learned a new game or activity or did some puzzles as a FAMily that was really fUn! Maybe you have started a DailY devotion reading as a family.
At my job at Olive Garden I had to learn how to take to go orders. I had to answer the phone, ask certain information, be patient and explain menu changes and complete the order properly. This required using the computer and making sure I knew how to put the information into the computer.
I messed up at first. I became frustrated a few times. I needed help to figure out the right order to do things. I learned how to take a credit card payment for to go orders. I could have just said nope…I do not want to do this anymore. But instead, I prayer about it and MovEd ForWard and learned some new skills!
To end with, think abOut our bible memory verse that goes with thIs whole unit on Non-AvengerS.
“Be kind and compassionate (tender) to one another. ForGive one another, just as God forgave you because of what Christ has done. Ephesians 4:32
We have talked about 4 people of the bible: The Prodigal son, Esau, JosePh and David. Take one of these of these people and relate it to your lAst month at home!
Did anYonE catch that I did some Capitals and lower case mixes in some words? Just seeing if you were paying attention! See if you can find them all.
Hugs!

What is my purpose in life?
Ever wondered that? I have. Well, God answered that question in his son, Jesus Christ.
This week we are finishing up our unit on the Life of Jesus. The last scripture in this unit to read is Mathew 28:16-20.
Mathew 28:19
Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Mathew 28:20
Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days to the very close and consummation of the age. Amen(so be it)
God is with you. He knows you better than you know yourself. He will never leave you. He is teaching you everyday. Many people in your life will show you love and teach you and guide you in your journey of life. God will put many wonderful and faithful people in your path. These people may be in your life for many years and some will be in your path for a season. God knows what he is doing. Stick close to God. Talk to God. Have a personal relationship with God. Testify to others about your relationship with God. God is EVERYWHERE. Open your heart to what God has in store for life. Do not let mistakes stop you in life. God already knew what was going to happen.
Let God lead your future. Pray for wisdom and guidance in your everyday life. When trials and issues come, lean to peaceful resolution. Pray first and be slow to speak and slow to anger but quick to listen. Do you know that bible verse? Look it up and post on our facebook page.
I challenge each and every person reading this right now to share Jesus Christ with someone today. You are responsible for your actions. God calls us to be disciples in Christ. There are many people in this world who know nothing about what the Bible says about Jesus. Ask God to help you to pray with a person today. Ask God to help you testify about God today. Start with what you personally know to be true about God. What have you learned in our study of the life of Jesus? Did you memorize some Bible versus? share that with someone today. Sharing the word of God is good. Jesus is alive and his name is powerful. Today remember you serve a mighty God and he has plans for your life. The more you learn and study the word of God the more clear your purpose and future will be. It is a choice to follow and serve the lord. God is with you every step of the way and he wants you to be joyful not fearful and know He is Lord! Pray for his wisdom, strength and guidance in your life today.
God is our Strength Forever,

This week I have been loading videos onto our facebook page. It is peace childrens ministry on facebook. check it out. Look for our logo on the site and you will know it is our facebook page. I found a great children’s bible that has really been great to read on video and to help kids and adults to learn what the Bible says about the days between Palm Sunday and the death of Jesus on the cross. I hope many of you reading these blogs and watching Pastor Karl have become closer as a family. It is really interesting how all of us have done some self reflecting and made some changes in our everyday life. I hope in some way, shape or form that includes Jesus in a real substantial way. Every family is different and Jesus can meet every single person in your family right where they are at. We can not do that, but Jesus Christ can! How exciting is that!
We are overcomers in Christ Jesus and we can all rejoice about the fact that we have a savior that is alive! We are actually called to share this good news now and forever! I am excited for the day that we are all back together and we can share some of the things that we learned about ourselves, Jesus and love. Start thinking now…I want to come out of this BETTER than how I went in. What does that mean to you and how will you do it?
Think about that and then be sure to share it on facebook as a craft, poster…comment , poem…story…and /or with scripture… I am going to be thinking about this too. This is not just an activity for the kids but for the whole family! Please share it on peace children’s ministry page and if possible share a picture! I would love to see it and so would others! thank you all for being a part of Peace children’s ministry
Hugs,

We are rolling into celebrating Easter!! The Risen King! He is Alive!! I have been looking at a few different things that your family could do to celebrate Easter. There are so many ideas out there and I am sure your family will find some great new activities that will make this your best Easter yet!! One thing that I have seen is an activity called Resurrection Eggs. This activity mixes a fun activity for kids to enjoy everyday and look forward for while adding scripture and history as a foundation as to why we celebrate Easter. The idea is to take 12 days and do an activity each day. You use plastic eggs and an egg carton if you want and you can make it as quick and easy as you want or as detailed (older kids) and as informative using scripture as you want. Younger kids will enjoy getting the activity out each day and adding items to the eggs and reviewing what they learned the day before about Jesus life and each step of the 12 Resurrection eggs. Look up Resurrection eggs online and you will find all kinds of printable activities and ideas on how to incorporate this into your daily life. I highly suggest you use this as a 12 day activity up to Easter. I would use each day as a review and have your children be the ones that do the review of opening the egg and telling about what the item in the egg stands for and the older child or adult can read the bible verse that goes with it. Those of you who have been in Children’s church this will be a great review of all we have learned about Jesus’ life! Make this an activity that EVERYONE in the family participates in so the kids know that it is important to everyone in the family. AT the last day the kids could actually do a program for the adults in the family and be able to retell the story from the first egg till the last!
Very important!! Remember this does not require lots of money or shopping to do these activities. It does not even involve a printer!! If you have no printer just write out the scripture… Older children can do this part. They can decorate the scripture on the paper however they want. No two Resurrection Egg activities will be the same! This is what I love about this activity! There is no wrong way to do this activity!
When you are done you might just have a new tradition and a great family activity to remember forever!
Please send me your comments and pictures of your family doing there Resurrection Egg activity! I can not wait to see what you all do! I think you will all REALLY enjoy this activity!
Happy Easter Season! Jesus is ALIVE!

So we are learning some new skills. We are practicing some skills we might have become slack on….this is time for a lot of patience and sometimes a break from each other and a moment to say I am sorry.
Routines are great but make sure in your routine we have free time. Free time means with other people in the home or alone.
We are learning some patience.
We are relearning manners like please and thank you.
We are realizing we are all human and we will overcome all of us and nothing is impossible. God says so. His word is clear…no fear..overcome and love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says “and these three things remain faith , hope, love and the greatest of these is LOVE ”
Today make a choice to learn and grow in the Lord during this time and make some wonderful family decisions to bring Gods word into your everyday life!
Big Hugs,

Jacob & Esau, who? by Ms. Debbie

Persistance:
What do you think about when you hear that word?
The definition is: firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
The continued or prolonged existence of something.
As believers , as people, as parents, as brothers, as sisters we have many things we have to have persistance about.
Luke 18: 1-8 shows a judge without compassion. It is easy in our day to day life to loose sight of compassion. To stop and think of each other first and not ourselves. I know I need to constantly pray for God to use me and humble me. It is not me that is going to do the work in the situation but you God. I pray for wisdom and I pray for God to use me as a vessel to further his kingdom. I can not speak for you, but sometimes when I say something or react to something it is not good. I miss the mark so to speak! Usually in a big way! Then I feel like I have to go make it up. We are all busy and we can be grumpy and lose site of the big picture. The big picture is Jesus is here to carry us. we can pray about everything. We can pray when we are sad, angry , mad, hurt and we can ask God to help us work through things. I pray a lot for God to make a way in a situation where I do not see a way. I want to be peaceful and loving and kind and enjoy life. We are surrounded by many pressures and we do not always react the best. Let’s decide to pray together about it. Let’s decide to forgive quickly. Let’s decide to apologize quickly and move forward.
Above all let us be persistant in our faith in Jesus Christ and our need for a savior.
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Mathew 19:26
Prayers of Blessings,

Jesus opened his arms to the children. Jesus knew they had open arms and open hearts. As people who live in this world we have a tendency of seeing the thing that is different. We see and point out and fixate on the difference as a bad thing. It might be the way a person looks, dresses, talks, or what they have or do not have. At any given moment we can be the most positive and loving light of Christ and other times we can be upset, angry, hungry , grumpy and frustrated. Jesus uses the parable of the weeds Mathew 12:24-30 to say see past that. Be open to everyone. Listen for Gods direction and TRUST IN GOD to direct you for a life full of blessings and purpose and productivity. Difference is not a bad thing. It can be a door waiting to be opened by you. Let us try to be a welcoming person in your mind, heart and words.
Isaiah 6:8 says “Here I am Lord send me.” God is sometimes going to ask us to do things that we do not feel we are capable of doing. He says do not look at the situation or the problem but look to me for the solution, the guidance and the strength to see you through. Do not hide or run from the adventure. Embrace it. You know it is God if it is good, kind, peaceful and caring. Don’t try to run away from something or someone who is different from you, love them where they are at. Find common ground. I often ask God to make a way in a situation where I feel there is no way. You might be surprised what you have in common with that person. Let the weeds and the seeds grow together. You might learn from them and they might learn from you! Life is adventure! Let us learn to seek Gods direction first, be bold!
2 timothy 1:7 says “God does not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and sound judgement.”
You might be nervous at first stepping out of your comfort zone and you might be scared of what others may think but you might also meet a person that becomes your best friend. You might find a new adventure in life. You might learn of an interest you did not even know you had and you might be a much better person and a blessing to someone when no one else would be! Be a chain breaker, be a person of courage in Jesus name! Love can and will find a way and share your testimony with others of how God used YOU! If you have never heard this song…..It is an amazing song.. Sanctus Real – Confidence
Claim Victory in your life! Stand up, step up and face your giants with confidence in Jesus!

Thank you for so many people coming out to support Winterfest! We had a bounce house, crafts,”snowball fun”, basket raffle and a chili cook off. Due to the support from thrivent and generous donations of time, money, baskets, food and gift cards this event was able to give back to the community. Everyone was welcome to come eat for free and have a wonderful time. The raffle tickets brought in $436.00 which will be used for the Children’s ministry and to pay for the tickets to go to Bounce. The kids actually voted on that and in March or April we will be going! The chili cook off was a huge success and the raffle baskets were the talk of the event. So many baskets with different themes and fun surprises! We had an amazing amount of volunteers including people from Civil Air Patrol, Scouts and church. Thank you all for your help in making this event a huge success. I looked out at one point and had to smile. People were not on their phones they were actively engaging in the crafts, the food, the raffle and the Chili cook off as a Family! How wonderful to see!!
The facts:
There were around 160 people total. We estimate 60 kids and 100 adults. We had 6-8 kids and families from PELC come to join us which is fantastic. We had 27 baskets donated and 8 entries for the chili cook off.
When we say “Every Child Blessed” last Sunday’s Winterfest is what we mean!
Thank you so much to everyone that helped in making this a dream come true for me. I have had this vision for about 6 years and it was amazing to see it come to life. To see many different people young and old interacting and enjoying some fun times that are now great memories together! Here are some pictures from the event!

This week take a moment and just relax. Spend some quality time with your children, grandkids, neighbor kids or children from your church. Bring a child to Winterfest or invite a family to Winterfest. You could also volunteer to help with Winterfest. We can all be a small part or a big part of a child’s life. We can take to heart and pray about “Every child Blessed” and ask God to open our hearts and minds in the way we can make this happen. Do not be afraid or discouraged or questioning. Leave it in Gods mighty hands. He can do it, if you let him in. When we share with children we are also blessed. Children are quick to smile, quick to hug and quick to forgive. Lets help our children to feel loved, to feel a part of this church and to get to know them. It can be as simple as lending a hand to a mom at church with young children. Spending a moment praying with a child, or just smiling at a child and asking them what they did in children’s church today. You never know until you try. I encourage you to pray about your part in “Every Child Blessed” in our church. I am big believer in testimonies about what God has done for you. Come share the joy of fellowshipping here at Peace Lutheran church and have some fun. Lets believe in grace and that we are ALL BEAUITFUL and LOVABLE in GODS eyes. Let us open the doors of our heart and soul and enjoy our relationship with a real, living savior JESUS CHRIST!
Come join us for Winterfest!

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin.
I know in my childhood I had a grandma and an Uncle that were very special to me. Their involvement in my life touched me both spiritually and emotionally. My grandma is the one who taught me the Lords prayer and my Uncle Buddy was fun and interesting and cool. Have you ever talked to your child about someone in your life that was special to you? Have you noticed a person in your child’s life that is very special to them? Why not talk to your child about it and then have them write down how they feel about that person. Valentines is around the corner. Why not make it a truly heartfelt Valentines this year. If your child can not write themselves write it for them. This Valentine might mean the world to that person. Life is short and children are only young once. The way they see things and say things is so cute and capturing that in a note to that special someone is truly priceless. It may be make them cry or laugh or both but I can assure you it will make a lasting impression!
Speaking of lasting impressions… the love that Jesus has for us goes well beyond any holiday sentiment. The first love letter ever written was from Jesus. He died for us and loves us more than we can ever imagine. He gave us everything. A very special Valentine your child could do is a Valentine to Jesus. It could be as simple as this thank you for loving me first I want to love you back.
Sincerely,
Ms. Debbie

Hello everyone!
I just want to take a moment to remind everyone reading this that God is NOT mad at you. God is love! He wants great things for you. He wants to help you, lead you, guide you in this journey of life. In the good times thank god for it and the rough times find something to thank God for. there is always something you can be thanking God for in your life. He is a God of peace, joy and love.
Everyday god goes before us. Everyday he is our biggest cheerleader. He is joyful that you are sharing your life with him. Spend time with him. talk to him. I pray a lot in my car. I just talk to god about life. I also sing in my car and put my Christian music up pretty loud and belt it out! ENJOY LIFE! If you are in a situation where you are miserable maybe it is time to make some changes. Maybe the first place to start is praying and saying ok God I am ready to except some good healthy change in my life. Lord, I ask you to open doors that need opened and give me the courage to walk through them.
your friends might not always be there, your family might not always be there, your dog might not always be there for you but I can assure you GOD WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU!
A great song to listen to is Your love never fails. It never gives up on me! Le that sink in your heart and your soul.
Love,
Ms. Debbie

This week think about how you can be a blessing to others. Jesus blesses us and we are to go out into the world and be a blessing. What can you do for people around you to help them be happy? First and foremost help them know the love of God. One way to do that is to be loving and kind and generous. When I say generous I do not mean with money only. How about your generous with your time? You can be generous with your knowledge. You can be generous with your smile. We can compliment people more. I mean genuine generosity. Not because you feel you have to. Not because you are pressured. Not because you like the attention. Do it to be a light of Christ! Sometimes God calls us to step out of our comfort zone and do something new. How else are you going to grow?
You can start small. When you think about complaining smile instead and help someone. Learn to ask for help. Then, when they need help you are a help to them. Start to be the person who has a smile and a hand to help. Also be ok with saying that right now you are busy but then make a time that you can do something to help that person. There has also been times in my life when God calls me to do something. LISTEN!!!! It may be something that changes your life forever. Let us strive to be a person that people are happy to be around. Think about this little saying..
Complain and stay the same…Rejoice and be glad!
We can all find something to be happy about or rejoice about!

BREAKTHROUGHS!
We are starting a new year and God gives us a fresh start every day. god does not look at our past but looks at where we are going. Take a moment to look back at where you have been in your life. Have you made some mistakes? Have you made some bad decisions? Yes . We all have. What are you doing now? Are you learning and growing in your life? Do you have some attainable goals for this year? Do you have some good friends to be supportive along your way? Do you have some spiritual friends that will be listen, give you wisdom, pray with you and seek scripture to help you? These are some very important questions as we start a new year. Keeping faith based people around us is essential in our walk with Christ. It is easy to people that will tell us to do whatever we want but, not as easy to find people who will tell us what is right and honest and good. take stock of who you are around. Are these good influences in your life? Are they helping your spiritual growth? I would rather 1 true believing friend the 500 friends that will not be there for me when I have nothing to give them. to be able to talk to a friend listen to their advice and end a conversation in prayer is priceless.
I feel this is a year for breakthroughs! I said plural!! BREAKTHROUGHS! why limit yourself to just one! Pray and ask God to teach you and open your eyes to anything you need to work through. I find after I have prayed God will not only tell me the answer but he will also use people to give me confirmation about it. Ask god for his miracle working power in your life today and watch the breakthrough happens and PLEASE SHARE THEM! You never know when your testimony will help another person!

Let’s share the joy of peace this Christmas.
This Christmas season let us all try to just get along! I know we all have difficult people in our family. You might be surprised to realize there are people in your family that think YOU are difficult! Try to ignore much, laugh more and just relax no matter what is going on. Don’t let people yank your chain this Christmas. Stop and pray first! Change subjects if need be. Walk away for a minute. Go outside. Go to the bathroom. Anything that gives you a few moments to breathe. Putting up some good healthy boundaries this Christmas will help create a more calm environment. Two things that always seem to cause friction are; talking about politics and having alcohol available. Also, you may think about getting a hotel instead of staying at a relatives house. That way if it gets to be too much you have a calm, safe place to retreat to regroup. Most important, do not hold grudges or anger or offense over anything that is said. Just remember YOU are responsible for what YOU do and say not others. Represent Christ this Christmas. Show kindness and mercy and Gods grace. Avoid conflict where possible. Uplift and encourage everyone and find a way to be the light in the darkness. Be the peacemaker!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

TV Programs: What are you watching on TV?
Hello Again! I hope your devotion is going well! Please feel free to go to our face book Peace children’s ministry and post a testimony about what your family is reading for your devotion and how nit is going. Your little comment about your personal experience with starting a devotion might be exactly what another family needs to get started! We are all to help each other in our journey here on Earth.
Today I want to talk about TV programs affect our family. TV shows and quite frankly, even TV commercials, have become much more violent in content and even demonic. There used to be a a common criteria that commercials and shows would adhere to. That has went out the window in the last few years. Reality TV has made saying and doing whatever you want on TV a new culture.
I am personally not sure what to do about the content issue and who to write to but I think it needs address in our everyday lives as believers. I am putting out a call if any of you know ways to address this in writing letters or contacting any particular agency PLEASE post information about it on the Peace Children’s Ministry page. THANK YOU! It is alarming to me how many scary movie commercials are on during times that little kids are watching. I find them awful! Let alone a little child that can then go bed and have nightmares that something is after them to kill them!
Ok so enough of my soapbox! What we can do is share TV shows that are family friendly with each other. One that I started to watch a year ago is “When Calls the Heart” This is show based in the 1800’s around a small mining town. It has a christian theme and many life lessons as well as calls to pray and rejoice in the lord. It is currently on Netflicks. This is a Hallmark Channel original and I do find myself watching many things on Hallmark Channel because they are more strict on their content, even with commercials. Currently, Hallmark channel has many Christmas movies on that I love to watch! We can not control what is going on in our culture but we can at least take time to show our kids good examples of inspiring , believing shows that will help them on their faith journey.
Lastly, This Blog is not to be a Ms. Debbie only thing. I want and need feedback from YOU!! Kids and parents alike can comment on this blog on the facebook page Peace Children’s Ministry. What are some good, wholesome TV shows, movies or cartoon programs your family has watched recently? Let’s spread the word that we can enjoy TV and praise the Lord all at the same time!
“Let love be genuine. Abhore what is evil, hold fast to what is good. Romans 12:9
Let’s do this!

Advent: What is that all about?
This past week at worship we talked about Advent. What does Advent even mean? It means COMING. Jesus is coming. Is Jesus in your life? Is Jesus in your everyday thoughts? Are you praying on a regular basis? Are you reading your bible regularly? This is time to reflect and get closer to Jesus. Make this Christmas Season about your relationship with Christ Jesus. You might be thinking how can I do that? Why not try reading a daily devotion? Some Pastors and authors of great devotions are: Joseph Prince, Joyce Myers, Sarah Young and Rob and Joanne Tiegen. If you have never done a daily devotion one, I highly recommend, is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.
Daily Devotion set up:
Talk to family about it
Choose a topic for your devotion
Buy a devotion
Set a time and place ( keep your devotion book in a place where you see it to remind you)
Start reading it together
Rule: No distractions during the few minutes it takes to do it! (no cell phones or moving around doing other things)
What area are you interested in for a daily devotion? Is it learning to pray more effectively, dealing with teen age children, boundaries in your life, being a Godly influence on your grand children? Whatever it is the good news is… there is a devotion for it!
Lastly, Don’t beat yourself up if you forget a day. Just start where you left off and keep going. The point is to keep scripture in your life and apply it to everyday situations. This advent season lets put more Peace, love, joy and hope in our everyday life.
Romans 5:5-6
And this expectation will not disappoint us. for we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
Our hope in Jesus will never disappoint us.
Let’s grow this year in the word!

Thanksgiving is a great time to do something special for friends and families. This year try a new tradition. Why not make a picture, craft, poem or thank you for card? Choose a person that is coming to your house on Thanksgiving Day. Take your time on it and make it special. You could even make an ornament for them to hang on their tree this year! As a parent, when I thought it was important for my kids to do things like this I did it also. It showed them it was important enough for me to take time to do it too. Many people are a little sad at this time of year and this little surprise might make a huge difference to them. Talk as family and come up with some great ideas. Then, get out the glue and markers and paint and have a fun time. Please be sure to share your ideas and pictures of what you made on Peace Children’s Ministry facebook page. I would love to see what you created! Remember to sign it and date it too. Have fun and before you give it to that person take a minute to pray over it and pray for the person .
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Jonah who, what….? Whose got your 6?
This Sunday, June 30, we continue to explore and learn with Ms. Becky about Jonah, whom, God did save by a great fish that after 3 days that coughed him out onto the sea shore, and yet [Jonah] still managed to question and complain about God’s compassion. [Jonah 3:10-4:11]
What do you think or believe: Truth, metaphor, or fiction? While it certainly is a real “whopper”, both the fish and the story, rest assured IT’S TRUE, and really did happen. What? When? Why? See Matthew 12:40. While curiosity, behavior or attention may divert or lead us astray, was it really a whale or a fish, the 3-days, as foretold, is really what matters – to whom, what, and where, Permanent obstruction of God’s “Will” is simply impossible. He IS, and His Word does save, bringing peace not as the world knows it, there being no other way! So…what you really believe does matter, have FAITH! Why? Jesus says so…thanks be to God!

Children’s Prayer w/ Pastor Karl
Pastor Karl delivers the children’s message on “Gratitude”
Children are welcome and encouraged to participate during the in-service “Children’s Message” which never fails to impart and deliver an age appropriate message of God’s grace and truth. As a seasoned and experienced “grandpa”, not to mention daily overseeing a 160+ Early Learning Center, Pastor Karl has the unique and loving ability to teach and elicit a spirit filled response from even the most shy and reserved of children.
Following the Children’s Message, the younger children (4-7 years of age) follow Pam DiSarro, our Children’s Christian Education Director, where they engage in bible-based age appropriate games, projects and learning.
But jesus called THE CHILDREN to him and said
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Luke 18:16
Message of the week
Pam will post the upcoming week’s topic as well as prior weeks facts. We encourage and ask parents to learn along side their children. Take a moment during the week to ask your child(ren) what they learned at Peace. We are sure you’ll be pleasantly amazed at your child’s ability to learn and recall God’s Word, treasures imparted in youth bearing fruit even into old age.
