Get Involved! – What’s your time & Talent?

First of all, everyone is welcome…and we mean everyone. Whether you already know your way around a Lutheran Hymnal or have never been inside a church before there is a place for you at Peace.

Fellowship and Service Ministries

Altar Guild – Preparing the altar for worship on Sundays and other special days is a fulfilling and fun way to serve your church. Preparing communion, changing the paraments — all are easy tasks and you’ll have plenty of guidance along with fun and fellowship.

Amigos in Cristo – Bring canned or non-perishable foods to the Narthex to benefit the Lutheran Ministry in Immokalee.

Audio/Video Ministry – We will soon begin audio and video recordings of the Sanctuary Services. We are always in need of additional people to work the sound board. Contact the church office.

Bible Studies – Bible studies on various subjects are held on Sunday Morning and at various Peace Home Church locations thought the week. You are invited to participate in either Bible Study forum, or attend both for a deeper perspective.  Sign-up sheets are in the Church narthex along with scheduling and location or online here.  For further information and to join a Peace Home Church small group, contact Church Secretary, Suzanne Moore (239) 354-9144 or Christian Education, Mark Greul (239) 770-7873 or email greul@me.com

Boy Scouts – Our congregation proudly sponsors BSA Troop 214 Naples. Regular troop meetings with all scouts are held twice monthly at the church the first and second Mondays. The Boy Scouts welcome new tenderfoot scouts and adult leaders. Contact the church office for contact information.

Early Learning Center Funding – We are helping our Early Learning Center by saving the labels of all Campbell Soup products. At the bottom of the label is the bar code. When you cut it out, please try not to tear the bar code. With these labels, the Center is able to purchase classroom accessories, computers, games, science kits, physical education equipment, etc. There is a container for the labels in the Narthex and a list of the eligible products.

Early Learning Center Volunteers – Volunteers help our ELC in many ways from rocking infants and reading stories to serving on the ELC Board.

English as Second Language –  Teach English at Pelican Lutheran.  Free English classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to recent immigrants and other non-native speakers. Contact Maximo Maldonado (239) 595-1101 or Pastor Mark Eisold (239) 307-7336 at 5800 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples.

Volunteers at Peace coach immigrants from Venezuela in English.

The class meets weekly. On the Third Sunday a “Mission Sunday” is celebrated, with at least one song in Spanish and translation of the service in Spanish along with the English.

Our Easter Service included English, Haitian and Spanish worshippers and diversity in songs, readings and sermon. Two elementary school girls later on were told they would be singing a Spanish song in choir. They told the class and the teacher, “We sang this song in church at Easter.”

Greeters and Hosts Wanted  –  We need friendly, smiling faces and warm handshakes to welcome all who enter our doors for worship. Greeters serve a valuable role in our ministry as they make members and guests feel truly welcome. You may serve as frequently as your time allows whether that be every week or once a year.  The church office can get you started as a greeter. No prior experience required to fill this vital role.

Lay Readers – Share your love of the Bible as you read the appointed Scriptures during Sunday worship.

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) – We invite all ladies to come to our meetings at 9:30 on the Second Saturday of each month and join in the mission and fellowship of the LWML. We have begun a new recycling program that will accept inkjet printer cartridges, both one-time use and empty remanufactured/refilled cartridges, to provide funds for the National Convention. We also recycle used cell phones and used laser printer cartridges. Please place these items in the box in the Narthex.

Peace Choir on Easter 2018

Peace Choir – If you enjoy singing, consider singing in our choir throughout the year or seasonally.  Share your God-given muscial talents as a singer or instrumental musician in worship.  Please contact Choir Director Jan Grundeman at (239) 353-2216 or speak to her at church. We practice either in the choir room or the sanctuary from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. most Wednesday evenings. You are welcome to join us!

Prayer Chain – We believe in the power of prayer to do miracles. Join with others in praying for the needs of our members and visitors.

Property Maintenance – Under the direction of our trustees, this team works to ensure that the facilities and equipment of our parish are readily available and properly maintained. Whether you are talented at fix-ups or just want to help, you are needed.

Sunday School Teachers/Volunteers – Help out in our Sunday school and share your love and knowledge of Christ with the next generation. We need your help.

Usher Teams – Would you like to stand at the back of sanctuary or in the narthex during the sermon? Love to share a smile with people? Consider serving as an usher to facilitate our worship services.
