Walking on Water: Believing the “Unbelievable”

Walking on Water: Believing the “Unbelievable”

The creed of the skeptic: “Show me!”
The call of God: “First you’ve got to step out of the boat.”
The skeptic wants first to be convinced before acting.
The call of God first wants you and me to act in faith in order to be shown.
God isn’t a sideshow of miracle cures and amazing supernatural tricks. This isn’t a spiritual circus or phenomenal magic show.
It’s still about surrender. Letting go. Trusting God. Kingdom advancement.
Peter’s water walking wasn’t about making great Facebook videos as much as it was about releasing his fears when every human reflex was designed to keep him from transferring the weight of that step from the known and proven to the unknown but trusted.
Granted, sometimes we end up “water walking” because it feels like we got pushed out of the boat by trauma, tragedy or suffering. But ether way, whether we got pushed or went overboard in spiritual exploration, it’s out-of-the-boat living where we discover we CAN believe the unbelievable!
Let’s learn from God’s Word together!
Let’s get out of the boat!
