Coveting: Don’t Even Think About It

Coveting: Don’t Even Think About It

Coveting: Don’t Even Think About It

By the way the Lutherans count the 10 Commandments, coveting gets addressed twice. And, any way you count it, these last two commandments address the thought of coveting well before the action has a chance to spring from within. It is apparently something God is trying to nip in the bud. Coveting may be last on the list, but it is not of least importance!

The goal of this summer worship series has been to accept and appreciate God’s boundaries as freedom providing! It’s been an 11 week invitation to take to heart God’s commands and recommit them to heart as well.

Join us this week for the thoughtful conclusion of this 10 Commandment review!

September’s Worship Series: The Power of Purpose

Beginning September 9th, we’ll get focused on purpose!

More specifically, we’ll get focused on God’s purpose – and be blessed by it! We’ll be answering the question posed by Rick Warren’s book, “What on Earth Am I Here For?”

The topic is relevant and powerful at any age. The calling of our Lord becomes tailored to our circumstances, our gifts and his mission! Each portion of our life cycle – each and every life-stage can be blessed by pausing and asking, “What’s my purpose here, now?”

On September 9th, we’ll start with the question, “Where does it all begin?” We’ll launch from Colossians 1.16 and Paul’s declaration of Christ at the center. Then, after worship and brunch, we’ll gather to be led in a “Blue Zones Power of Purpose workshop” from 11:30-1:30p! We’re doing our best to invite our early learning families, so join us and invite your family and friends on purpose!

The “Blue Zones” is a research-based wellness project studying the longest living populations on the planet. Their research has led them to encourage nine healthy lifestyle habits – of which one is, purpose! Go online to bluezones.com for more information.

Labor Day Weekend Break in Brunch

In order to give all our servants the Labor Day weekend free, there will be no brunch served this Sunday!

And, speaking of disappointing news, our faithful Brunchlady, Corey, is moving to Michigan. ☹ She and her trusty sous-chef Quinton will be missed, but we wish them Godspeed on their new chapter!

So…that leaves us searching for a new “Brunchlady” (or “Brunchman” as far as that goes). Please contact me with your leads, thoughts or recipes you want to try on God’s people at Peace!
