The heavens are declaring the glory of God!
More than simply taking up space, the majesty and magnitude of the universe tell us something about the Author of the universe.
Ask this question, “What is the chance the universe formed by chance?”
Mathematical professor at Oxford University, Roger Penrose says, “that it is a number that would be impossible to write out in the usual decimal way, because even if you were able to put a zero on every particle in the universe, there would not be enough particles to do the job.”
Hmmm…
It reminds me of the conclusion of the Gospel of John, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” – John 21.25
It seems whether it is God the Father on His Throne in Eternity, or Jesus walking the earth in sandals, it’s too much to digest, too much to comprehend, too much for the universe to hold, too much, too much, too much!
So…God connects it to Love which can be experienced. He marries the grand and glorious with the grace of forgiveness. He gives us assurance of redemption! He gets personal because that’s what He wants us to experience – His Personal Purpose and Love – us, you, me!
Read Psalm 19! It starts in the big universe and ends in our home, our heads and hearts!
