93 billion light years wide!
That’s the current estimate of the size of the universe. And, to it, God attaches his glory. It’s really big! God’s even “bigger” than that!
And if you think that’s big, wait till we try to explain, define and examine God’s Love! It’s even “bigger” than that!
All summer long we’ve been invited to “get out of the boat” and walk the adventure of faith. It’s always a struggle to escape the gravitational forces of self and self-ishness; of fear and the call toward our comfortable “boats.”
That’s why we need the Love of God!
Its Power and Presence fill to overflowing. It’s constancy is there in unlimited portions. Its delight and joy stir the inner soul to trust God’s Call to adventure — out of the boat and onto the water — where Jesus is!
We can dare to step out of our boats because God’s Love compels us; calls us; propels us to go where only the Love of God could or would go!
God’s Love works.
It isn’t what he does. It’s Who He Is! (1 John 4.16)
Come to worship to receive this Love and live a life out of the boat!
Let’s experience God’s Word together!
See you in worship, Good Lord willing,
Karl
